G5422 is one of seven models introduced to Electromatic Collection this summer and it will be exhibited at Gretsch booth at 2012 summer edition of NAMM Show. This model comes with a standard Electromatic double cutaway shaped body with set-in neck joint. The body is fully hollow, as it is on the rest of Electromatic series models and it features a carved top. G5422 is available in three color options: Black, Transparent Red and Walnut Stain. All three are finished in high gloss urethane. This model is equipped with chrome plated hardware. Back, sides and top panel are all made of five-ply maple. Top and back are bound in white binding and top panel also features a pair of "f" holes carved onto it. Elevated pickguard with Gretsch logo is also featured on the top. Bridge section features adjust-o-matic bridge with rosewood base in the front and Bigsby vibrato tailpiece in the back. Pickups are Filtertron humbuckers in both bridge and neck positions. Master volume, bridge volume, neck volume and master tone knobs comprise the controls unit. In addition to this Gretsch installs a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is made of maple and it comes covered with a rosewood-made fingerboard. 22 medium jumbo frets, 1-11/16" wide string nut and humpblock inlays complete the fingerboard specs.

This guitar is awesome, just bought it and it is a superb piece of kit. The finish is great and the range of tones is impressive. The build quality is very good and as good as many more expensive guitars. I own a 1978 Fender Strat and can replicate the sounds I have and more from this. It is equally at home playing all types of music and its slim body is a pleasure to play
