SG Standard has been around for 57 years (started back in 1961), and is Gibson`s best-selling solid-body electric guitar in history. 2018 Gibson USA lineup features two SG Standards, with this one taking the more of a traditional role compared to the high-tech HP model.
SG Standard 2018 brings all the tone, style, and playability the twin-horned axe has been known and loved for throughout the decades. Being a Gibson USA model, the new SG Standard also boasts the finest US craftsmanship. Autumn Cherry, Ebony, and Heritage Cherry options make up the color palette.
Main appointments include a solid, beveled mahogany body (w/small pickguard), set-in mahogany neck (slim taper profile), 22-fret rosewood fingerboard (1.695" nut, 24.75" scale), two-piece hardtail bridge, 61R/T set of pickups, and locking Kidney tuners.
