SG Special 2016T is a traditionally made SG guitar, perfect for players who are looking for that `60s SG look and feel. Don`t let the minibuckers in the bridge and neck confuse you, this little two-horned rocket`s got enough fuel to launch you into outer space and take you around the sun. It is, along with the SG Faded 2016T, the cheapest Gibson SG model this year - they both cost $739.
SG Special 2016T blasts off with a solid and beveled body made entirely of mahogany. No maple tops, no filler, bare muscle and bone for that raw and dirty rock `n` roll roar. Small version of the classic SG pickguard tops the beveled body. Twin-horned body is matched with a one-piece neck made of maple (Faded 2016T has a mahogany neck) with `70s profile in the back. Rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets, block inlays and 1.695" nut tops the neck.
Gibson 495T and R minibuckers are as ferocious as their full-sized siblings, and come with a standard set of controls. These bad boys deliver everything from juicy blues licks to downright dirty and mean hard rock riffs. The specs list is rounded off with a set of Green Key tuners and the classic tune-o-matic/stoptail bridge unit.
