N-225 is a brand new model from Gibson Guitars and it found it`s home within the Gibson USA Designer segment. It blends the modern with vintage in a completely new way. Contour of this model is based upon the older Design series models and features a modern double cutaway design. It`s made of solid maple and features strategically placed chambers to both shed some weight and improve tone. Body is flat on the top and is decorated with fractional "f" holes on both the treble and bass sides of the bridge. There are three color options available for this model: Ebony, Faded Cherry and Natural. All are finished in traditional high gloss. Bridge section brings a very interesting combo made up of tune-o-matic bridge and a vibrola tailpiece in the back. A pair seldom seen on today`s Gibson USA models. Dirty Fingers humbucker is placed in the bridge position and a classic P-90 in the neck. Controls unit is simple and features one volume knob and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Maple neck is glued in and equipped with a '60s slim contour in the back. It`s topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Headstock sports a set of Grover tuners. The MSRP for this model is set at $2,332.

I have been reading the "reviews" of this guitar by those who have never played it. It looks different than the average guitar, that is true. This guitar is a great guitar. It plays like a dream. The P90 pickup is sweet to the ears. The dirty fingers pickup gets right to business. The dirty fingers has a split coil control in the tone switch. It has a three position pickup switch. It is light weight. You can mix the P90 with the humbucker or you can mix the P90 with the split coil on the humbucker. You can play just the P90 or just the humbucker or just the split coil of the humbucker pickup. This is a Gibson through and through. I love this guitar.
