Back in 1953, when the first Les Paul Custom saw the light of the day, a classic, one of the most recognizable and most beloved guitars was born. Today, more than sixty years later, it is still one of the most prominent representatives of electric guitar universe, and is still among the most beautiful and most elegant guitars. For 2015, Gibson Memphis has decided to try out a limited run of ES-Les Paul Custom, a luxurious hybrid of the classic "tuxedo" LP and the finest features from the ES dynasty. This super special LP comes with a semi-hollow body made of maple and poplar - back, sides and top are made of maple/poplar/maple three-ply laminates. Also, the standard ES-LP center block is there, inside the body. On the outside, the classic LP Custom styling is still, despite being six decades old, a sight to behold. Simple and elegant ebony paint, seven-ply white/black binding and gold-plated hardware are still unmatched, and bring out the best in LP design. Two-piece bridge unit is updated with an AVR-2 bridge and a locking stoptail bar. In the pickups section, the original P-90s are replaced by the vintage-sounding MHS humbuckers with a standard LP controls unit and gold-plated covers. One-piece mahogany neck is fit with a rounded C profile in the back and a sixties truss rod on the inside. 22-fret fingerboard on its top is made of a single piece of rosewood. Grover`s Milk Bottle Rotomatics round off the specs list.
