Les Paul Studio 2013 comes improved, suited up and more versatile than ever before. It is the Les Paul for all players who can not afford a Custom or Standard. Modest-looking work horse that will never leave the player stranded, these are the words to describe the Les Paul Studio, the unsung hero of rock music. For 2013 it comes with classic mahogany back/carved maple top combination without top binding, present on the upscale LPs. This Studio features a total of twelve color options: Alpine White, Ebony, Pelham Blue, Inverness Green, Radiant Red, Wine Red, Fireburst, Vintage Burst and Silver Pearl. Alpine White, Ebony and Wine Red are also available with gold-plated hardware. Another upgrade made available by Gibson is the set of robotic tuning machines. Bridge section on this model is a standard one, it features a tune-o-matic bridge in pair with a stoptail bar. This age old combination has proven to be the right one for Les Paul models over five decades ago and the winning combination should not be changed. Pickups on this new and refreshed Studio are Modern Classic humbuckers with active electronics. They can be split through push/pull switches mounted onto the volume knobs. In addition, Studio comes with separate tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Coil splitting function is added for the increased versatility and all round value of this already exceptional model. Neck is made of the standard quarter-sawn mahogany and it comes with `60 slim taper contour. Back in the day, this contour was a miracle and today, it is still one of the finest ever made. On top of the neck a granadillo fingerboard is installed. It comes with 22 frets, acrylic trapezoid inlays, 12" radius and 1-11/16" wide string nut. The MSRP for this model starts at $2,199. Gold hardware and robotic tuners are charged extra.
