Frank Zappa was and still is one of the most iconic and celebrated musicians and guitar players in history of rock music. Frank`s career was cut short in late 1993, leaving a total of over 60 studio albums recorded in somewhat less than forty years of active playing and recording. Frank Zappa left a permanent mark in the history of rock `n` roll with both his music and personality. His music still lives with unyielding popularity. Numerous signature and tribute models have been introduced by Gibson in the past. Frank Zappa Roxy SG is the most accurate recreation of Frank`s legendary SG from Roxy club days released thus far. It comes with a solid mahogany body with classic SG contour. Bridge section features a tune-o-matic bridge with maestro vibrola bar and trapezoid tailpiece. Modded set of '57 Classic humbuckers with open coil design is featured in the front. Two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch are accompanied by two mini-switches. One is for coil splitting and the second one gives that famous out-of-phase sound. Set in neck is made of mahogany and it features the '60s contour in the back. On it`s top, Gibson installs a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Jumbo-sized frets, dot inlays and creme binding complete the fingerboard. Tuners featured on the headstock are Grovers and come in 3+3 configuration.
