Gibson Memphis has unveiled a ton of new models for 2015 (28, to be exact) with two of them being the standard 335 and 339, but with satin finish and a different color palette. This detail page, and the article too, are dedicated to the ES-335 Satin. Basically, it is the same (save for the body measurements) as the ES-339 Satin, featuring the same pickups, hardware, electronics and tonewoods. Body of this elegant 335 is entirely made of poplar, while the neck is made of mahogany. back, sides and the top are all made of two layers of maple with a layer of poplar between them. This gives a bright, lively tone with a good response and high level of clarity. On the top, this model rocks the new standard bridge unit - the AVR2 bridge in the front and a locking bar in the back. Just like the 339 Satin, this model is fit with a pair of Burstbucker cannons with a traditional controls unit (2x volume, 2x tone and a 3-way toggle switch). Mahogany neck features the traditional C profile in the back and a 1960s truss rod within. Top is reserved for a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with rolled edges, creme binding, 12" radius, pearloid block inlays and 1.675" wide bone nut.
