Vintage Hot Rod is one of many lines in Fender`s catalog wihch mix vintage styling and modern features. This series boasts models with authentic and historically accurate vintage design and versatile tone. Thus far, there have only been three models in the lineup, but Fender introduces six new models for the fall of 2013. Vintage Hot Rod `50s Stratocaster is a solid and double-cut guitar with 25-1/2" scale, chrome plated hardware, compound fingerboard radius (7.25"-12") and three single coil pickups. Construction-wise, this model follows tradition and has a bolted neck made of maple. Body of this flat-top Strat is made of ash, instead of alder, which is Fender`s most standard tonewood. On the top, there`s a chrome-plated trem bridge with string-through construction and six adjustable saddles. In the front, Fender installs three single-coil pickups (American Vintage 59 single coil in the neck, American Vintage 56 single coil in the middle and Texas Special single coil in the bridge). Special S-1 switch adds bridge pickup to the standard 3, 4 and 5 positions. Maple neck is fit with a D contour in the back and features 21-fret maple fingerboard on the top. 6105-sized frets, 1.65" bone nut and black dot inlays complete the fingerboard.
