American Standard Series comes renewed and improved for 2012. All of it`s iconic models, Strat, Tele, Jazz and Precision are being upgraded for new season. The overhaul has been announced several times in past few years and now it`s happening. The main feature, and also the main difference comes with the introduction of custom shop pickups to the standard series range of basses and guitars. All new American Standard models got them. 2012 American Standard Stratodcaster HSS comes with a standard set of body features: double cutaway, solid alder body, white plastic pickguard/electronics protector, no binding, no top woods. There are three color options available for this Strat, black, Sienna sunburst and basic 3-Tone sunburst. They all come with urethane gloss finish. Two-point synchronized tremolo bridge comes with chrome plating, six adjustable saddles and string-through-body construction. In the pickups area, H/S/S pattern is filled with Custom Shop Fat '50s single coils and Fender Diamond humbucker in the bridge. Standard controls setup includes master volume, two tone control and a five-position blade switch. Maple neck is bolted to the body and equipped with a modern C contour. Players have a choice between rosewood and maple fingerboard. Both have the same specs:22 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays and 1.685" wide synthetic bone nut. Other features include: 25-1/2" scale, chrome hardware and aged plastic parts. This model was introduced, along with other novelties from American Standard series, at 2012 Frankfurt Musikmesse. The MSRP is set between $1,529.99 and $1,699.99.
