First of all, Fender Custom guitars are made by selected master luthiers with unbelievable enthusiasm, knowledge and passion about all things Fender. Only the finest among finest pieces of wood are granted for use in the Custom Shop. Hardware is also top shelf. Very often, hardware used on a particular model replicates hardware used on some iconic model from the past. This time Custom Shop pays tribute to the most famous riff in the history of rock music, a riff known among young metalheads, old hippies, Russian coal miners and Texas farmers. It`s name is Smoke on the Water and Fender Custom Shop honors it with Ritchie Blackmore Tribute Strat. this Strat is so similar to the original on which Ritchie created the riff, that the original guitar might get an identity crisis, if it saw the Ritchie Blackmore Tribute model. It comes with the historically accurate double-cut contour and it`s made of two pieces of the finest alder. Vintage synchronized tremolo is replicated from the original model and it`s fronted with a set of three hand-wound single-coil pickups. Standard controls unit is featured along them. Blade switch has three positions. Maple neck is bolted with four screws and features period correct "F" plate. Custom U contour is featured in the back and it`s topped with a 21-fret maple fingerboard. Medium jumbo frets, black dot inlays, 7.25" radius and 1-5/8" string nut complete the fingerboard. Fender tuners, classic 251/2" scale, chrome plating on the hardware and gloss finish are also featured on this model. Fender puts a four figure price tag on this one. $8,000.00 is the exact MSRP set for Ritchie Blackmore Tribute.
