Sheryl started out on a 1959 Telecaster Custom, an iconic model from the Tele family, the first one to be branded with the Custom badge. It was, and still is one of the coolest Teles ever made. Just before the start of Sheryl`s first solo tour, her Tele, along with band`s entire gear, got stolen. Instruments were replaced quickly and the tour kicked off. After the show in Austin, a fan approached Sheryl with a 1959 Custom Telecaster, which belonged to his mother, who died of breast cancer. Sheryl accepted the gift and this Tele became her number one guitar. Almost 20 years later, Fender Custom Shop decided to honor Sheryl with a limited run of 60 replicas of her 1959 Tele. The first copy replaced her own guitar as the main stage and studio instrument, while her own Tele went to well deserved retirement and is now at Sheryl`s home. One of the copies was signed by her and donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
