Viper 401 is a a model from the LTD Standard section of the ESP catalog. it comes with a solid and double-cut SG body and EMG electronics. Body of this, and every other ESP/LTD Viper, is solid, double-cut and has offset waist. Beveled top and flat back are also featured on the Viper bodies. 401 is an intermediate six-stringer oriented towards hard rock, punk and metal genres. All-mahogany construction (set in neck is also made of mahogany) in combination with EMG`s 81 and 85 pickups creates one of the heaviest and thickest tones around. Two-piece bridge section traditionally installed behind the pickups of the Viper series models is inherited from the original SG model. Set in mahogany neck is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
