ESP`s EX series boasts an impressive number of Explorer-bases six-string axes. LTD side of this series deals with the more affordable models, which are made for all the players who are looking to score a high quality guitar, while staying within the budget. EX-401FM is the top model of the series. It comes with a solid and flat mahogany/maple body and a set in maple/mahogany neck. Mahogany is used as the base wood for the body, with the two-piece flame maple cap on it`s top. Neck is made of several maple and mahogany laminates. In the electronics department, ESP installs the classic EMG 81/60 pair of active humbucking pickups. Maple/mahogany neck is topped with a standard 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
