ESP`s Horizon Series expands it`s horizons with a brand new seven-stringer for 2012. This model hits the scene with all the technical and aesthetic appointments of Horizon family of models, but extends the range for an extra string on the bass side. For starters, ESP Horizon FR-7 has a solid, double cutaway body made of alder. There is no top wood on this horizon, but the alder also looks very pretty when carved. Binding makes it even more attractive alongside the glossy black paint. There is no pickguard available for this model. In the bridge section, there is an original Floyd Rose double locking bridge with black nickel plating. Pickup compartment contains two active humbuckers, two active EMG 707 pickups. EMG 707s were especially made for seven-stringed guitars. They were made by modifying the legendary 85. This pickup combo is controlled through master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch. The neck is made of maple and is equipped with thin U contour and neck-through-body construction. The bound ebony fingerboard features 24 extra jumbo sized frets, offset rectangle position inlays and 1.89" wide string nut. Gotoh tuning machines and a standard 25-1/2" scale wrap the list.
