50th anniversary is a huge milestone in any branch of industry, art or craft and even more so in the industry of electric guitars which has barely over sixty years of history in commercial sense. One of very few models which stood the test of time is the legendary SG. Introduced back in 1961 as the solid-bodied (SG stands for Solid Guitar) successor to Les Paul, SG carved it`s own path through the emerging hard rock scene of the 1960 and became one of the world`s most popular guitars. Limited Edition 50th Anniversary 1961 SG Special P-90 pays homage to the model and year which started it all. It comes with a solid, double-cut mahogany body with beveled edges, small pickguard and set in joint. Wrap around bridge replaces the standard two-piece unit, while the electronics unit is led by a pair of Alnico V P-90s. Mahogany neck rocks the 1960s slim taper profile and a standard 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
