Z Straight Six is a model from the new Straight Six series of electric guitars by Dean. This series blends tradition with modern trends in a new and refreshing way. Classic and standard V, ML, Z and Cadillac are taken, clad in black paint and gold hardware and given modern streamlined headstocks, instead of the classic wing-shaped ones. Result is surprisingly good and looks very natural on all four current models. Z Straight Six comes with a classic Explorer-shaped body made of mahogany. Mahogany is the main material for Dean Guitars and it is seldom replaced by other tonewoods. It gives the characteristic fat, rich tone Deans are known for. It is paired with a C-shaped neck, also made of mahogany. All-mahogany base gives deep, smooth tone with incredible sustain. Add the 24-3/4" scale and DMT pickups and this Z is ready to tackle virtually every style of blues, rock and metal. Bridge section on this model is a traditional one and it includes a tune-o-matic bridge with string-through-body construction. There is no stoptail bar in the back. Instead, Dean installs a V-shaped plate. Grover tuners and glossy black paint complete the specs for this model.
