MAB4 Gauntlet is one of the models made for Michael Angelo Batio. MAB, as he is known throughout the guitar world, was one of the leaders of the original shred movement in the 1980s. He is still active as a solo artist and he endorses Dean Guitars. His signature series offers a wide range of guitars. MAB4 is one of the intermediate models in the series. It offers a modern double-cut body made of basswood. It is carved on top and covered with a custom-painted 'Gauntlet' graphic. Bridge section on this model is a standard one, it features a Floyd Rose double-locking bridge. In its front Dean installs a set of three pickups in H/S/H configuration. Bolted maple neck on this model is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
