Michael Angelo Batio is one of the most prominent players of the modern era shred movement. He started out back in the 1980s with the first wave. His most successful band was a glam super group named Nitro. Michael Angelo, also known as MAB is known for his ambidexterity and ability to play on two necks at the same time. He even experimented with quad guitars. MAB ArmorFlame is, however, a single-neck guitar made with a more conventional double-cut body. Body is made of alder and it`s paired with a bolt-on maple neck. Bridge on this one is a double-locking Floyd Rose bridge. EMG 81 is in the bridge position, SA single-coil in the middle and 85 in the neck position. 24-fret fingerboard is made of ebony.

The body graphic is not etched. The neck is bolt on not set and the shape is a "C" not a "V". This guitar is designed from top to bottom to be a shredder! The body is a multi beveled alder (top is also alder) making it extremely comfortable to play sitting or standing. The alder also allows for a tonality tgat is different than the mahagoney shredder. When sitting the body does not dig into my inner bicep or the top of my leg allowing me to jam longer. When standing the guitar seems to mold itself to me. The guitar has some weight! Not too much but enough to feel very solid. All wrapped in an awesome Armorflame graphic! The pickups are active EMGs. An 81 (bridge), SA (middle) and 85 (neck). The EMGs are designed to push tubes to the brink while maintaining clarity and remaining articulate. Drive and sustain for days! The tonal possibilities are endless. The neck... WOW! Fast, fast and fast! The neck is a thin ( but not too thin) "C" shape. Topped in ebony (my favorite) with beautiful pearloid block inlays and jumbo frets. The fretwork on my guitar is perfect. Level, no sharp edges. The frets are tall. Top all that off with a killer headstock design also sporting the Armorflame graphic and Grover tuners. The bridge is a FLOYD ROSE! Accept no substitute! Dive, pull, whatever and be confident the MAB stay in tune!
