Dave Mustaine Series of signature guitars is one of the most important series in Dean Guitars catalog. Next to the Dimebag series, Dave`s signature line attracts the biggest number of both dedicated fans and metalheads in general. Dave Mustaine is almost synonymous with thrash and speed metal and his guitars are embodiment of his vigorous and abrasive style. Three models were introduced into the series at this year`s NAMM show in Anaheim, Ca. One of them is Dave Mustaine Zero Classic Black. This model comes with a modern variant of the cult Z body which was introduced way back in the 1970s. It is made of mahogany and it`s flat on top. There are several layers of binding around the edges of the top. Glossy black body is matched with black hardware which adds to the stealthy appearance of this razor-sharp metal axe. Bridge section features a tune-o-matic bridge with string-through construction. Behind the bridge, there`s a V-shaped plate with six holes. Dave Mustaine Duncan Live Wire pickups are installed in both the bridge and neck positions. Neck is made of mahogany. It`s set in and equipped with D contour in the back. On top, there`s a 24-fret ebony fingerboard.
