Back in early 2016 (starting with 2016 NAMM), a full revamp of BC Rich brand was attempted by Praxis Musical Instruments, the latest holders of worldwide BC Rich rights. The result is a wide roster of electric guitars and basses, divided into six main series (Mk1, Mk3, Mk5, Mk7, Mk9, Mk11). Mk9 Mockingbird was inspired by the earliest Mockingbird models, the ones which made BC Rich a household name back in the 70s. Two variants exist, one with maple burl top and the other with walnut burl top. Both, however, feature the same specs under the hood. The main construction features include solid mahogany wings, three-piece mahogany neck (through-body construction), and 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. Important hardware and electronics appointments include DiMarzio pickups, TOM-styled hardtail bridge, and die-cast tuners.
