Torino is a stripped down single-cut guitar with Les Paul-like design and construction. It is the basic model of the AXL USA series (a four-model line based on the classic LP design). Body of this basic six-string is made entirely of mahogany. It`s flat, single-cut and features no fancy decorations. One-piece wrap-around bridge is found on the top (a TonePros locking wrap around bridge with adjustable height), as is a black plastic pickguard. Pickups section is fit with a lone humbucker in the bridge position (a Lindy Fralin high output humbucker). Master volume and master tone knobs are installed with the pickup. Also, the humbucker can be split into a single-coil through a push/pull switch. One-piece mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.

I recently bought this from Rimmers Music and the £300 I paid was a steel. I'd been looking at Epiphone Les Paul Juniors and Vintage V120 & V130's but stumble upon the AXL USA Torino. I did a lot of research before buying and the others don't compare for quality and equipment. I am not sure but there seems to be AXL guitars out there and AXL USA and they seem to be completely different animals: ) The finish is a white light sparkle and I love the light distressing, just adds to the character The Torino comes with a Lindy Fralin High Output Humbucker, Lindy Fralin pickups are a well renowned, a USA boutique pickup winder and they sing and shout, brilliant! The bridge is a Tonepros wraparound, very high quality. The tuning pegs are Grovers, well known for being good quality. The wiring harness is excellent CTS pots, switchcraft etc. Top quality. The body and one piece neck were imported to the USA from the far east. In California a master builder installed the frets, levelled and setup the guitar whilst installing all other components. You can tell I'm smitten. This is a keeper. If lost or stolen I'd cry because I think I'd struggle to get another, especially at the price I paid.
