After years of exclusive focus on nylon and steel-stringed acoustics, Alvarez is reintroducing the electrics. J&B (Jazz & Blues) range currently features only three electric models, two semi-hollow and one fully hollow. Basically, AAT33 and AAT34 are twin models, except for the pickups and the number of cutaways (33 has two, 34 has one). This means that the 34 starts off with a semi-hollow body made of maple (back/sides/top) and mahogany (center block). Creme-colored binding, bound "f" holes, and black pickguard grace the top. The neck`s also made of maple and has a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top (dot inlays, 24-3/4" scale, 1-11/16" bone nut). Alvarez set the MSRP for AAT34 at $899 (for both the Burgundy and Tobacco Sunburst variants).
