Warwick has, in it`s thirty year long history, always been one of the leaders in electric bass development with Corvette, Thumb, Streamer and other legendary basses. With Thumb basses the players steps beyond what is usual, as these basses provide monstrous tone and sustain, and weigh in over five kilos. Due to it`s tonal qualities, players easily adjust to the size and weight of the instrument. Thumb SC 5 Broadneck comes as a solid, single cutaway model with a body made of swamp ash back and bubinga top. There are no bindings or pickguards on this model, and it is finished in natural oil. The neck on this model is made of flamed maple and it has a neck-through body construction. Not only sonically, flamed maple neck and bubinga top get along well in aesthetic sense, as well. It can be seen on the top of the body, where tanned bubinga wings accentuate the flamed maple center. The fingerboard is made of tigerstripe ebony and equipped with 26 frets. There are no position inlays and the string nut is made of brass. Electronics and pickups are supplied by MEC. Two humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions are controlled through master volume, balance, bass and treble knobs. The bridge is a black Warwick two-piece with top load construction. 34" scale, black hardware and Warwick tuners wrap the list of specs for this model.
