As flashy as it`s signature artist, this Spacebass steals the spotlights wherever it appears. It took two years for Warwick custom shop luthiers to make this bass, and it was given to Bootsy at the NAMM Show earlier this year. The Spacebass kicks off with a star-shaped body made of swamp ash and maple neck. The body is highly decorated with see-through red edges and red dots on the white center. The pickguard sports chrome color. This setup is the only color option available for Bootsy`s Spacebass. But, beneath all the flash and glitter, this is one mean rockin` machine, as it featured neck-through construction and top shelf materials. The bridge is a far more standard feature, it is a Warwick two-piece bridge with top-load construction and chrome plateing. The pickup department features jaw-dropping five active single coil EMG pickups. MEC electronics feature master volume knob and a mini-switch for each pickup. The neck is made of maple with star-shaped headstock and through-body neck joint. The fingerboard is also made of maple, and it features 24 nickel-silver frets with red colored star inlays. Warwick tuners and 34" scale complete the list of specs for the Spacebass.
