Plus series is being introduced into the Diamond range for 2015 with a set of four and five-string models. This is Diamond-J 5 Plus, a super-versatile five-stringer with vintage styling and modern construction. Solid and double-cut body of this model is made of swamp ash or alder, depending on the color option (alder- Ivory; swamp ash - Aged Natural). Slightly brighter than the alder, tone of swamp ash packs a strong, clean and defined punch. Also, it has one of the most beautiful grains among the common tonewoods (thus it is frequently offered with clear gloss and satin finishes). The central feature of this model and the entire series is the electronics - wiring and controls to be precise. Seymour Duncan`s single-coils are featured in J/J pattern and have an extended controls unit. Master volume knob has a push/pull switch ("down" position leaves the bridge pickup in regular phase, while the "up" position pickup is wired out of phase when combined with the neck pickup) Also, there is a four-position rotary pickup switch (1. bridge pickup, 2. bridge and neck in parallel, 3. bridge and neck in series, 4. neck pickup). In addition to this, Schecter installs an active two-band Seymour Duncan equalizer with bass and treble knobs (these two are fueled by a pair of 9v batteries). Hardtail bridge with string-through construction, bolted maple neck with C profile, 20-fret fingerboard (maple on Aged Natural and rosewood on Ivory) and vintage Grover tuners are also found on this epic five-string.
