Freeway series is a line of electric basses made by Canada`s biggest manufacturer, Godin. It`s main mission is to offer the younger and less experienced players reliable and high quality basses at a reasonable price. Four and five-stringed instruments are available in this series and all feature modern double-cut bodies with bolt-on construction. Two models feature passive and two have active electronics. Freeway 4 Active has, as it`s name says, active electronics. Instead of maple and poplar, which are standard for the passive side of the series, Freeway 5 Active is made of mahogany body and maple neck. On the top, there are two active humbucking pickups with bucket loads of power and strength within their coils. Maple neck is topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard.
