Fret King`s Black Label was introduced at the 2012 NAMM Show, and became an instant hit with it`s palette of models with high quality features and rock bottom prices. It`s roster consists of twelve models, ten electric guitars and two electric basses. One of those two basses is Perception 5 String Bass which comes as a solid bodied, double cutaway model reminiscent of old Jazz and Precision basses. It`s body is made of two pieces of alder in combination with maple neck. The flat top only features a plastic pickguard, no binding, no top woods. Black, vintage white and classic burst are color options chosen for this five-stringer, and they all come with gloss finish. The bridge is a Wilkinson five-saddle with top-load construction and chrome plating. In the pickup department, the situation is same as on the four-stringed variant, Wilkinson J pickup is in the bridge, while the Wilkinson P pickup sits in the neck position. They are controlled through master volume and split tone knobs. The neck is made of Canadian hard rock maple and topped with a rosewood fingerboard. The fingerboard features 22 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays, graphite string nut and 10" radius. 34" scale and Wilkinson tuners complete the list of specs. The MSRP is set somewhere around $1,000.
