Soulman basses are among very few models produced under the Framus name. Majority of bass lines is produced by Framus parent company, Warwick. Soulman 5 comes with a solid, double cutaway body made of two pieces of ash wood. The top on this model features no top wood covers, bindings or pickguards. The bridge is a one-piece fixed appointment with chrome plating. In the pickups department Warwick`s MEC company provides two J-styled pickups, one for the bridge and one for the neck position. They are controlled through a simple layout which includes master volume, balance and stacked bass/treble knobs. The neck is made of four pieces of ovangkol wood and it is bolted to the body. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and it comes with 21 frets.

Here again, like the 4 string version, well built,, great tone and playability, basically this is a Warwick bass with the Framus brand. These basses are Made in Germany lighter than a Fender Jazz bass, but almost identical in body shape. I own both the active and passive versions This is my signature bass. I have other basses, but this bass is my go to instruments Anyone has one for sale, let me know, I will be very interested to buy it. Only reason I only gave 4 stars for features is that I like position markers, these basses do not have any on the fingerboard. Just a small thing, but I like that about the Fender Jazz basses.
