The new Player series is Fender`s attempt to retake the throne of the middle class, once again. This time, instead of going the Squier route, Fender opted to publish the new series under the main brand. The models compete in $500-$1,000 range and offer updated design, vintage/modern hardware, as well as in-house (Player Series) electronics. Player Jazz Bass Fretless is one of only four available Jazz Bass option. It comes with a solid and double-cut alder body, bolt-on neck joint, Player Series J/J pickups (passive, Alnico 5 single-coils), and stock hardware. 3-Color Sunburst and Polar White color options exist. Other notable features include a maple neck, a fretless fingerboard made of pau ferro, four-saddled hardtail bridge, and open-gear tuners.
