Modern Player series is the introductory line in the Fender catalog. It serves as the beginner`s series and a line dedicated to players who are yet to discover Fender`s four, five and six-stringers. This series is fit with quality models and reasonable price tags, thus creating a very attractive and competitive lineup. Teles, Strats, Jazzmasters, Precisions, Jazz Basses and other models can be found within the ranks of this series. For the summer of 2013, Fender reinforces the series with six new models. Reinforcements are evenly distributed among the guitar and bass segments and Modern Player Jazz Bass is one of three basses introduced into the lineup. It comes with a solid and double-cut body with an offset waist and flat top. It is made of alder and combined with maple neck (the most classic Fender combination of tonewoods). On top of the body, there is a four-saddled hardtail bridge with chrome plating and a set of two humbucking pickups. These offer modern tone and are considerably stronger than single-coils usually featured on the Jazz Bass models. Maple neck is bolted to the body and topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. 34" scale, vintage tuners, 9.50" fingerboard radius, 1.50" wide string nut and satin lacquer finish complete the specs list.
