Beyond the shadow of a doubt, Adam Clayton is one of the most influential bass players of all time, forming the stringed half of U2`s impeccable rhythm section (the other half`s Larry Mullen Jr.). Contributing to all 14 of the band`s studio efforts, as well as numerous EPs and singles, Mr. Clayton`s tone is imprinted into the very essence of rock music. His main weapons for the most of the four-decade career included various models of Fender Precision and Jazz basses. As a unique thank you note, Fender`s luthiers have come up with a pair of exclusive Limited Edition Adam Clayton models (one Precision, the other Jazz). The Limited Edition Adam Clayton Jazz Bass features the same styling, tonewoods, and hardware as its Precision twin, with the only major difference being found in the electronics department. Main features include a solid alder body (Purple Sparkle finish, sparkle pickguard), maple neck (custom C profile, polyurethane finish, four-bolt joint), maple fingerboard (20 vintage frets, abalone inlays, 1.5" string nut, 34" scale), HiMass bridge (four saddles, hardtail construction), a pair of Custom Shop `60s Jazz Bass pickups, and Fender/Hipshot "Lollipop" tuning machines.
