1960s and 1970s were a period of trial, turbulence and experiment for Fender. Ownership change, change of style and an attempt to conquer the semi-hollow and hollow-body parts of the market really marked this period for Fender. Fender`s sole attempt to break the Gibson/Epiphone domination in this field resulted in Coronado and Starcaster models. Both the bass and guitar models were introduced. Coronado bass is now back, along with other Starcaster and Coronado models. They`re back for all the adventurous players out there. Body of the Coronado bass is made of laminated maple back, sides and top. Center block i made of alder. This 30"-scaled bass comes with four-string construction and vintage styling. Bridge section on this model is made up of the adjust-o-matic bridge in the front and a trapezoid tailpiece in the back. Two Fideli`Tron pickups are installed in the front and they feature the same controls set as the six-stringed Coronado. neck on this model is made of maple and it features the C contour in the back. On the top, there`s a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with creme binding, 1.6252" wide synthetic bone nut and 9.50" wide radius.
