Fender has a long tradition in the production of both guitars and basses. Lot of legendary models have been featured in the catalog of this renowned brand. Today the American Vintage series is aiming to recapture the vibe and looks of the past models. It ranks among the top lines in the catalog, as it`s models feature only the finest materials and top shelf appointments. Due to the high prices and strict replica policy, models from this series are made for experienced players who know exactly what they are after and can afford it. For 2013 Fender introduces four new basses into this series and '64 Jazz Bass is one of them. It comes with a solid, double cut body with an offset waist. It features flat top with the vintage plastic pickguard on it. Bridge section features a vintage-styled bridge, which is fronted with a pair of American Vintage Jazz pickups. Two volume knobs and one tone are featured in the controls unit. Fender`s basses never featured classic electric guitar pickup switches. Maple neck on this model is made with C contour and bolt-on joint. It is topped with a 20-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Vintage-styled tuners, 34" scale and glossy finish complete the specs list.
