B series is huge and almost every bass player can find what they need and want within the series` roster, provided they find the visual styling of the B basses appealing. B basses come in many different shapes and sizes and with many options. Four, five and six-string models are available, also, there are fretted and fretless models, active and passive ones, regular-scaled and compound-scaled, etc. B-204SM is the lower intermediate class model introduced for 2016. It is supposed to be the so-called "second instrument", the one to which players should upgrade to after they`ve learned to play on their beginner models. Nonetheless, due to its all-round qualities, B-2014SM can double as beginner option, too.
B-204 starts off with a solid and double-cut body made of plain ash base and spalted maple top. Five-piece maple/rosewood neck is bolted to the body and has a super thin profile in the back. On its top, the neck features a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with XJ frets, dot inlays and 15-3/4" radius.
ESP Designed pickups fill the bridge and neck slots. Though not quite on a professional level, the tone coming out of these two big boys is more than satisfying for an LTD bass. Top-load bridge and LTD tuners complete the specs list.
