BR-142 is one of the more affordable models in the Historic series of acoustic steel-stringers made by Blueridge Guitars. This model is fully acoustic, as Saga and Blueridge decided not to include any pickups or preamps into the specs list. There fore, the tone reverberates and projects through the body without obstructions. Body of this model is made of mahogany and spruce. Mahogany is used for the back and sides, while the spruce is used for the sound board on top. Top panel is equipped with series standard black binding, tortoise shell pickguard and triple circle rosette. Bridge section on this model is equipped with a regular belly-contoured bridge made of rosewood. It is matched with a 20-fret rosewood-made fingerboard. Mahogany on this model is also used for the neck.
