RO-17 is one of two medium models from the Classic series` orchestra line. This particular orchestra comes with a non-cutaway body, made of rosewood and spruce. Rosewood back and sides are covered with spruce sound board. This combo is used many times throughout the RK catalog and it found it`s way to this model. Rosewood has a strong low end and overall powerful tone, while on the other side spruce is used for it`s balanced tonal properties and snappy attack. Top panel is equipped with ivoroid binding and triple circle rosette. There is no pickguard on this model For that matter, pickguards are omitted from all orchestras from the Classic series. Neck is made of mahogany and it sports a 20-fret fingerboard made of rosewood.
