DW is Peavey`s line of budget-friendly acoustic-electric guitars; it has three models in its lineup and all three are dreadnoughts. Some of the main features of the DW series include minimalistic styling, Peavey`s own hardware and high quality electronics. DW-1 is a non-cutaway dreadnought guitar with a flat sound board and dovetail neck joint set at the 14th fret. Back and sides are made of laminated sapele and the top is laminated spruce. The neck is made of mahogany, it has the standard contour in the back and a 20-fret fingerboard on top. Passive piezo pickup sits beneath the bridge saddle and there`s a preamp on the side. Fixed rosewood bridge and a set of Peavey`s die-cast tuners complete the specs list.
