G9555 New Yorker™ Archtop with Pickup is a vintage-styled acoustic-electric guitar, and is one of two acoustic novelties introduced for 2015. Placed within the Roots series, this model is a nod to the golden age of acoustics. Its grand auditorium-sized body is made without a cutaway, and with a moderately deep contour (body depth is 3.125"). Antique Burst is the only color options and it is finished in semi gloss. Back and side panels are made of laminated maple, while the arched sound board is made of solid spruce. Creme binding around the top and the back beautifully complements the body color. Also, the tortoise pickguard is a beautiful addition to the overall vintage theme. Wooden bridge is combined with a trapezoid tailpiece on the top. The electronics department is fit with a completely custom made and custom wound pickup with a rubberized magnet. Master volume knob positioned on the pickguard is the only member of the control unit. Mahogany neck is attached at the 14th fret, and topped with a 19-fret rosewood fingerboard. Dot inlays, creme binding and 1.75" wide nut complete the fingerboard. Grover`s Sta-Tite tuners complete the main specs list.
