CN-140S is one of several new models in Classical series made by Fender. This series represents Fender`s nylon string division. Mostly, these models are oriented towards the budget-friendly section of the market. Such is the case with the current CN-140S model. It comes with a standard-shaped classical acoustic body with non-cutaway design. Fender mixes laminated rosewood and solid cedar for the body of this nylon-stringer. Laminated rosewood is found on back and sides, while the solid cedar is on the top. The sound board is bound in several layers of binding and decorated with Fender`s traditional rosette. There are no electronics on this six-stringed classical guitar. No piezo pickups, nor preamps are installed on this guitar. Bridge is a standard classical bridge and it`s made of rosewood. It has a bone saddle. Neck is made of mahogany and it`s attached to the body with a 12th fret dovetail joint. On it`s top, there`s a 19-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Traditionally flat radius, 1-13/16" bone nut and classical frets complete the fingerboard specs. Six classical tuners on the headstock feature gold plating and 3+3 configuration.
