The lower intermediate category, the one in which AXS series competes, is one of the most heavily contested sections of the guitar market with major brands literally flooding the scene with their budget series and sub-brands. AXS series, though having great looks and a great price/quality ratio, has a tough job. AXS Dreadnought A/E is one of six available AXS dreads. This one`s amplified, but has no cutaway (a combination so common, that it`s a surprise when one comes without the other). Also, it rocks a 14th fret dovetail joint, 24-1/4" scale, stock hardware, and stock electronics. Other notable features include mahogany back/sides, spruce soundboard, maple neck (w/C profile), 20-fret rosewood fingerboard, fixed rosewood bridge, DMT SL3 preamp w/tuner, and die-cast tuners.
