AC4K, together with A4K is a limited edition model introduced by Yamaha at 2013 NAMM show in Anaheim, Ca. These two will only be available in limited quantities and thus feature some exclusive appointments. Mostly, these are regular A series acoustic-electrics, but the body material is not so ordinary. Instead of some standard option, like mahogany, maple or something along these lines, Yamaha luthiers decided to treat the players with solid koa. Back, side and top panels are made of top quality solid Hawaiian koa. With koa in the game and limited numbers, exclusive status is guaranteed. Body of AC4K is bound in multi-ply binding and decorated with abalone rosette. It`s covered with a tortoise shell pickguard. Bridge section on this concert six-stringer is equipped with a standard-shaped ebony bridge. It is matched with an ebony fingerboard. System 63 SRT is used on this model, as well. It is a standard option for A series electronics. Neck is made of mahogany and it features the dovetail joint. Ebony fingerboard on the top is equipped with 20 frets, dot inlays and 1.69" wide string nut. Die-cast tuners and 25-3/5" scale complete the specs list.
