The exclusive 800 series is one of two top tiers of Taylor`s main acoustic-electric range (together with 900 series). It is divided into the "regular" models (they start around $3,500) and DLX models (which start around $4,000). All models, however, can easily reach five-figure price tags, if a player chooses to replace the stock Indian rosewood back & sides with the ones made of Brazilian rosewood. 814ce DLX starts ar $3,999 and is available only in Natural (gloss finish, nickel hardware, maple binding). Some of the most notable features include a single-cut GA body (Indian rosewood back & sides, Sitka spruce top, standard pickguard), a mahogany neck, an ebony fingerboard (20 frets, Element inlays, 1.75" Tusq nut), an ebony bridge, ES2 electronics, and Gotoh tuners.
