Number 16 is reserved for the grand symphony models in Taylor`s catalog. Whether acoustic or acoustic electric, steel or nylon-stringed, a 16 model is always a grand symphony. New 616ce (2015) is no exception to this rule. Letters c and e also indicate that it is a single-cut guitar with acoustic-electric construction. It comes with a maple/spruce body, with back and sides featuring solid maple panels with Brown Sugar tint. Top is made of torrefied spruce (Sitka spruce, of course). Fixed ebony bridge with micarta nut, striped ebony pickguard, and ebony/abalone binding & rosette, are also featured on the top. Second generation of Expression system brings a piezo pickup mounted behind the string saddle, and a preamp placed within the body. Tropical mahogany neck is topped with a 20-fret ebony fingerboard.
