Thermal series is one of the most recent developments in Takamine`s Pro catalog. It`s hallmark feature are "thermal tops". These are regular spruce sound boards exposed to high temperatures to dry the wood and gain the tone of an old guitar on a brand new instrument. EF340S-TT is one of two dreadnoughts featured in the Thermal series. It comes with mahogany back and sides and spruce top. Thermally processed spruce sound board adds that vintage vibe to the warm and rich texture of mahogany. Neck is also made of mahogany while the fingerboard is made of ebony. 20 frets, dot inlays and standard Takamine measurements (1-11/16" string nut and 12" radius) comprise the fingerboard. Takamine`s hidden Palathetic pickup and TLD-2 Tube Line Driver preamp (plugs in through the strap button at the bottom of the body) set new standards for acoustic guitar amplification.
