Takamine 2012 Limited Edition models come at the same time as 50th anniversary models, so it`s a double limited treat from Takamine this year. This model was introduced at NAMM 2012 Show in Anaheim, Ca. Takamine 2012 Limited Edition is a cutaway dreadnought model with a body made of rosewood back and sides and solid spruce top. Bound in multiple layers of abalone, this flat top features a black pickguard with vine inlay on it. Also, the sound hole is adorned with a triple circle rosette. Color for 2012 limited models is super elegant black with glossy finish. The Bridge is made of rosewood and painted black to blend into the overall outfit, it has belly shape and split, white saddle. In the amplification area Takamine chose a palathetic pickup in conjunction with a CoolTube preamp. This preamp has a very low working temperature, so it is impossible to damage the wood. Also, CoolTube is one of five pre\mps which have uniform size, and can be changed by players themselves. The fingerboard is made of high grade ebony and features 20 frets with growing vine inlays. Growing vine inlay designs from 2012 models will not be featured on any Takamine guitar ever again.
