2098-KOA4 is one of four limited edition models launched for NAMM 2013 by Ovation Guitars and it is one of two to feature distinguished koa sound board on the top. Koa sound boards, or entire bodies are a sign of high class and are reserved for exclusive models. More often than not, it is found on limited edition guitars. This time Ovation uses it for the sound boards of two awesome six-stringers. 2098-KOA4 kicks off with pretty much standard shaped composite bowl in the back with deep contour. Body of this model is equipped with single cutaway, which is a bit deeper than standard and a standard neck joint. Top is available in natural color with high gloss finish. It also features elegant binding around the edges and an offset sound hole. Ovation pickup and side-mounted preamp are featured in the electronics department. Volume, tone, tuner and other controls are found on the preamp console. Neck on this model is made of five pieces of mahogany and maple and sports the standard back contour. On it`s top Ovation installs a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with custom 12th fret inlay. Ebony fingerboard on this model is matched with an ebony bridge.
