Ovation brings back legendary Balladeer series with 1771VL-1, a novelty unveiled at the NAMM 2012. This model features a vintage styled mid-depth bowl which was introduced on early Ovation models from '60s and '70s. This bowl combines features of both the deep and super shallow designs, thus making this Balladeer one very special and unique model. 1771VL-1 starts off with a solid spruce top placed upon this composite bowl. and the top features flat surface which is offered only in sunburst color option with a glossy finish. Instead of Ovation`s signature epaulettes and multiple sound holes, this model is equipped with a single, round sound hole adorned with a beautiful rosette. The bridge is made of walnut and features classic belly shape with a white saddle. Inside the body, Ovation COP-1K under-saddle pickup is placed and controlled through Vintage Ovation FET Volume/Tone controls combo placed on the side of the guitar. The neck is made of five pieces of maple and mahogany and attached to the body via the dovetail joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and is equipped with 20 frets and small dot/diamond position inlays. Ovation tuners, scalloped X bracing and 25-1/4" scale complete the specs.
