1687GT is an acoustic-electric model from Ovation`s Adamas series. It comes with a standard body shape for Ovation/Applause guitars and it features a non-cutaway design. Back and side panels on this model are made of composite materials and are merged into a bowl, instead of standard back and sides division. Top is made of spruce and it comes with natural binding. Pickguard is omitted from the specs list of 1687GT. There are multiple sound holes encircled with wooden epaulettes. Bridge is made of walnut with plastic string saddle. OP Pro preamp with XLR output and OCP-1 pickup make up the electronics on this model. Maple neck is set-in and it`s topped with a rosewood fingerboard. 20 frets, tree of life inlays and 1.6875" wide synthetic bone nut complete the fingerboard.
