AE305 is one of three updates AE series received at this year`s NAMM. Like the rest of the series lineup, 305 features discrete electronics layout (body`s integrity kept intact), AE body contour and custom-designed inlays. AE305 starts off with a single-cut body made of rosewood (back, sides) and spruce (top). Multi-layered binding, tortoise pickguard and abalone rosette add a touch of subtle elegance and refinement to already pleasingly curvaceous body of this flat-top. The neck is made of mahogany, with Advanced Comfort profile (in the back) and 20-fret fingerboard (on top). The fingerboard sports custom designed inlays, 1.69" nut and 15.75" radius. Major hardware and electronics features include chrome-plated die-cast tuning machines, Ibanez T-Bar under-saddle pickup and with external preamp.

Feels good in your hands, sounds wonderful, body resonants delightfully. The neck is just luscious, very fast and comfortable. The body shape is so well done that it fits very comfortable in your lap. Acoustically the sound has an almost dreadnought projection to it, but seems just a bit more precise. When plugged in the sound is heavenly, I love it acoustically, but the plugged in sound just takes it way over the top. This is a well designed acoustic and well executed in manufacture. I love mine. It has me looking at the other higher end acoustics in this series. Well done Ibanez.
